Imagine being able to make Puka Punch right at home! Of course, visiting Walt Disney World is amazing, but in between trips you can enjoy a Disney inspired drink any time you’d like in your own kitchen.

Disney’s Tambu Lounge at the Poly
There are a few favorites that I have when I go to Disney and the Tambu Lounge is always at the top of my list. Along with the infamous Lapu Lapu, the tiki bar serves many different rum-based tropical drinks. You can walk right up to the bar of the lounge and order a variety of refreshments, or sit down at one of the tables to be served.
You’ll find the lounge upstairs, right next to the popular O’hana Restaurant in the Great Ceremonial House of the Polynesian Hotel. At the lounge, you’ll find amazing and exclusive exotic drinks that make you feel like you’re in the heart of the South Pacific.
While there are many to choose from, my favorite has always been the Puka Punch. The combination of three different types of rum with various fruit juices makes for one delicious and potent tiki drink!
Of course, you can order this amazing cocktail any time you’d like when visiting the Tambu Lounge. But, if you want to bring a little bit of Disney into your home, then I have the perfect Puka Punch recipe for you!
Variations for Puka Punch Recipe
- Other rum options besides Real McCoy Rum are Captain Morgan or even Mount Gay.
- This recipe calls for using passion, guava, and mango juice but you can also use pineapple, orange, or grapefruit juice and change up the flavors a bit.
- If you want to make this recipe non-alcoholic simply replace the rum with club soda.
- Add a little bit of lime juice or a slice of lime to the rim for a little extra tartness.
Reasons to Add Guava Juice to a Cocktail
Guava juice is a popular choice for cocktails because it is sweet and has a strong flavor. Guava juice is also a good source of Vitamin C. Just like passion fruit juice, it’s also a good source of Vitamin A. That makes it healthy, right?
How to Make Puka Punch
One important note, this recipe calls for three types of rum. While that might seem like a lot, as any educated barfly knows, it’s actually quite common in tiki drinks. The three types of rum help to create different layers of flavor in the cocktail.
While you can use any brand of gold rum, dark rum, and white rum for your cocktail, I’ve listed the brands I use below.
